Economic and Food Security Collapse
2011 has been marked by abrupt collapses in the major economies. The global financial situation is shedding a dark umbrella upon us which makes us live under radical uncertainty. The oppressing hunger in the world does not help either. On the contrary, it is aggravated due to the upcoming lack of food security that is threatening us all. Starvation and poverty rates are skyrocketing and it is plain to see that certain persons in high power positions are playing their part in keeping the masses in the obscurity of ignorance. It makes sense to believe that the so-called centralization of power that some authorities are proclaiming as the solution would only worsen the situation. No world system will improve the state of the planet... It is the other way around: the power of transformation lies in each individual and his or her ability to question authority.
Hunger in the world should not be a problem since there is plenty of food for everyone. The problem lies in the unfair distribution of wealth and food security. A tremendously small minority holds the majority of power and wealth. There needs to be a change that arises from the bottom up. How is it that children are dying from starvation in Kenya while Kim Kardashian spends more than $10K in her wedding cake? In which mind does it make sense that food security can be ameliorated if most mega-corporations only sell canned chemicals and low-nutritional products?
We want no world hunger. 2012 will be a whole challenge if the starvation levels keep on rising. No world system will bring a solution, the change needs to come from individuals who believe in themselves and their inherent power of goodness. Food security will emerge from sustainable communities and innovative economic policies. Natural and agricultural aliments need to be served instead of manufactured junk. No world system will appease the hunger in the world if humans keep themselves trapped in zombie boxes of non-questioning of authority. Food security will remain a problem as long as the capitalist views keep on ruling the Western mind. This economic collapse has come to awaken us all of our egoistic perceptions of this world. The change will rise from each person's heart, not from an organization. It's our time to rise beyond the paradigms of 'normalcy'. Otherwise, we may end up with no world at all.
