Hunger and Starvation
When you think of people being hungry and unable to obtain enough food to feed themselves or their families, you normally think of other countries that have a history of hunger and poverty. However, hunger is all over the world and in every city you can find poverty, which is the main cause of hunger in the world today. There are certain steps to take in order to help end world hunger, though, as long as the effort it put forward. For example, certain things should always be made affordable and available to all families. These things include the basic food groups that help people to have healthier lifestyles such as meat, fruit, and vegetables. Some of the reasons that this goal is unattainable at the moment include war, because of the destruction it causes, over fishing that depletes the fish available and normally ends up in waste, and then there are natural factors that come into play such as having a drought and having poor crop yields which are, of course, out of our control. The two main negative side effects of hunger and poverty are malnutrition and micro nutrient deficiency of vitamins and minerals. These side effects are normally worse on the children because it affects their immune systems and creates vulnerability for diseases such as measles, diarrhea, malaria, and pneumonia which can be life threatening in some situations since these diseases normally strip away the few nutrients they do have in their bodies. While some people believe that it is a useless battle to be fighting and that it is a simple fact of life, there is absolutely enough food in the world to feed everyone living on the planet. The simplest way to help with this situation are to be sure not to waste any food.
